Prairie School
Prairie School warmth shaped by Roman brick, quarter-sawn oak, geometric art glass, and continuous horizontal bands. Golden autumn light ties the fitted interior language to open grass, trees, and low landscape beyond.

Applying this preset writes these five fields onto your project. Every one is editable after you apply it.
- Style
- Prairie School follows the Frank Lloyd Wright lineage through grounded proportion, continuous horizontal emphasis, and integrated craft. Long datum bands, low cabinetry, and extended material courses organize the existing enclosure without changing its walls, openings, or rooflines. Ornament is geometric and embedded in fittings, art glass, and woodwork. Earth colors keep the scheme close to the landscape. The result is warm, composed, and materially direct.
- Scene
- The scene opens onto tawny prairie grass, an oak grove, a sheltered garden, or a broad Midwestern horizon. Beyond the glazing, autumn foliage and low vegetation continue the horizontal rhythm established by the finishes. Urban surroundings can carry the same character through planted terraces and long masonry boundaries. Furnishings gather around a central hearth or table where one already exists, while clear edges maintain a strong connection between occupied areas and the landscape beyond.
- Lighting & Atmosphere
- Warm golden-hour light enters in long bands and settles across oak, brick, and textured plaster. Art-glass inserts break selected highlights into amber, olive, and muted red. Shadows remain broad and low, reinforcing the horizontal ordering of the scene. Small table lamps and shaded sconces add pools of warm light beneath the brighter exterior glow. The atmosphere feels grounded, sheltered, and closely tied to the autumn landscape.
- Materials & Textures
- Thin Roman brick veneer runs in long courses across existing surfaces and hearth surrounds. Quarter-sawn oak forms cabinetry, wall panels, benches, and trim, finished to reveal its ray pattern. Plaster stays warm cream or ochre. Geometric art-glass motifs appear within existing glazing, screens, and cabinet doors. Floors use brick, slate, or oak boards. Hammered bronze fittings and woven wool add restrained texture without interrupting the horizontal order.
- Entourage & Activity
- Built-in or closely fitted seating is upholstered in rust, moss, tobacco, and muted gold. Low oak tables, high-backed chairs, ceramic vessels, and rectilinear lamps support quiet domestic use. Books, drawing sheets, and a tea service suggest reading or conversation. One or two figures sit near the warmest light. Planting uses prairie grasses and broad-leafed specimens, arranged as calm extensions of the earth-toned interior palette.
