The composition
Applying this preset writes these five fields onto your project. Every one is editable after you apply it.
- Style
- A sculptural exercise in raw board-formed concrete, treated as a continuous material field rather than an oppressive mass. Existing rectilinear volumes, recesses, openings, and overhangs remain unchanged, while warm oak joinery and soft wool textiles bring ease to occupied areas. Structure, enclosure, and finish still read as one honest system, but the register is refined, calm, and inviting rather than uncompromising or austere.
- Scene
- The setting is spare and hard: a windswept plateau or a poured-concrete plaza with little planting beyond a few resilient ornamental grasses in gravel. Ground surfaces match the mass in cast-in-place slab or pavers, and a low retaining wall of the same material steps down toward a wider grade change. What lies beyond reads as sky and distance, not landscape.
- Lighting & Atmosphere
- Soft, warm daylight spreads across the concrete, gently revealing board marks, joints, recesses, and chamfers without producing harsh contrast. Shaded planes retain a neutral warmth rather than a blue cast, while reflected light reaches deeply into occupied areas. The sky is pale with light cloud cover, and the air is still. The mood is composed and contemplative, giving the concrete clarity and presence while keeping the space refined and welcoming.
- Materials & Textures
- Board-formed concrete remains the hero, its wood-grain imprint visible across every surface with faint horizontal joint lines where pours meet. Steel reveals at openings are matte black, and glazing remains dark and deeply recessed. Warm oak appears more generously in joinery, shelving, tables, and selected wall fields, while soft wool upholstery and throws temper the mineral surfaces. The concrete stays unpolished and lightly patinated, balanced by tactile natural materials rather than glossy finishes.
- Entourage & Activity
- Pale gray to charcoal concrete, black steel, and dark glass are warmed by oak, oatmeal wool, and restrained greenery. Ornamental grasses remain in gravel, joined by a few robust planters with leafy plants and one mature tree nearby. A wool-covered bench, oak table, and folded textile make occupied areas feel comfortable without clutter. People remain scarce, perhaps a single distant figure. Any lettering is discreet and incised directly into the concrete. The mood is calm, precise, and inviting.
