Style

Vietnamese late modernism combines economical construction, climatic intelligence, and a quiet appetite for pattern. Cool concrete, speckled terrazzo, lacquered wood, and geometric ventilation motifs give familiar surfaces a disciplined but lively finish. Screens remain fitted joinery, movable dividers, or patterned panels within the source geometry. Planting occupies available gaps and edges, softening the rational language. The result feels resourceful, urban, and comfortably adapted to humid weather.

Existing planes are finished in pale grey, muted green, and off-white, with dark lacquered storage and compact modern furniture arranged for daily use. Geometric panels filter openings without changing their size or position. Planted pockets, pots, and trailing vines create green pauses wherever the source allows. Lighting & Atmosphere

Soft overcast monsoon light produces low contrast and a cool, even wash across concrete and terrazzo. Materials & Textures

Fine-grained concrete and pale mineral plaster establish a cool matte base. Speckled terrazzo introduces black, white, moss, and muted rust chips across floors, counters, or tabletops. Dark lacquered wood gives cabinetry and furniture a smooth reflective depth, balanced by woven seats and brushed metal fittings. Geometric breeze-block patterns are translated into fitted screens, perforated cabinet fronts, or applied relief panels, while glazed ceramic pots hold dense green planting.

Entourage & Activity

One person reads or works at a compact table while another tends plants or sets down a rain-damp bag. Low stools, enamel cups, stacked books, and a lacquer tray suggest informal urban routines.
