Choose Create, Enhance, or Edit

Choose Create for words, Enhance for a 3D screenshot, and Edit for marked changes to an existing image.

Compare the modes

Start with the material you already have. Then name what must remain fixed. Words point to Create. A fixed 3D view points to Enhance. A local image change points to Edit.

The Composer mode picker keeps all three choices together. Changing mode changes the required inputs, not the Project or active Study.

Before a paid render starts, CAD Scene checks the brief after its input and credit checks. A clear brief sends without interruption. A hard ambiguity asks one question at a time. Choose an answer or write your own. The final answer sends one resolved prompt automatically.

Clarification never changes the selected mode or saved Composition. A mode conflict opens Review before sending. Select Back to composer to change modes, or select Continue with Create, Continue with Enhance, or Continue with Edit to send under the mode already selected. For an actual clarification question, Skip and Send Now renders the original prompt without keeping the clarification.

Create starts from a description

Use Create when no source image should define the scene.

• Required: A non-empty prompt.
• Optional: Up to five composer reference images.
• Uses: The project's five-field Composition.
• Preservation aim: Nothing from a source image because there is no source.

Create is useful for early concepts and new views. Read Create.

Enhance starts from a 3D screenshot

Use Enhance when the camera and geometry already exist.

• Required: One explicit source image.
• Optional: A prompt and up to five composer reference images.
• Uses: The project's five-field Composition.
• Preservation aim: Instructs the model to preserve camera, angle, perspective, framing, proportions, and major geometry.
• Change instruction: Instructs the model to change materials, textures, lighting, atmosphere, vegetation, sky, and surface finish.

Enhance is usually the right choice for a Rhino, SketchUp, Revit, or Blender screenshot. Read Enhance.

Edit starts from an image and marked regions

Use Edit when you want the model to preserve most of the source.

• Required: One source image, at least one marked region, a unique name for every region, and one prompt that references every name.
• Optional: Supported composer reference images.
• Uses: Automatic editable region names and the required global Edit prompt.
• Preservation aim: Instructs the model to preserve unmarked pixels, camera, framing, and the existing photographic style.
• Change instruction: Instructs the model to change the marked regions. Small drift can still occur.

Nano Banana models accept Edit references. GPT Image 2 Edit uses only the source and mask. Read Edit.

Source images and reference images

A source image is the image Enhance or Edit modifies. Choose it in the Enhance or Edit image panel.

A composer reference image supplies visual guidance. It can suggest materials, palette, mood, or content. It does not replace a required source image.

The Project reference image has a third role. It generates Composition fields and is never used automatically as a mode source.

Quick choice

• Have only an idea or brief? Choose Create.
• Have a screenshot whose view should stay fixed? Choose Enhance.
• Have a finished image with one local change? Choose Edit.
• Need a new camera view from an existing screenshot? Choose Create and describe the new view. Enhance is designed to retain the source camera.
