A Project is the container for one design effort. It holds project settings, studies, and every render made inside them.
Create a project
Open the Projects dashboard and select New Project. CAD Scene creates an Untitled Project and opens it immediately.
An empty project offers three setup paths:
- Start from an image: Choose a Project reference image, then select Generate settings.
- Describe your project: Enter a short description, then select Generate settings.
- Browse presets: Choose a Preset and apply it.
Each path fills the five Composition fields. You can also select Skip for now and set them later.
To rename a project, open its actions menu and choose Rename. You can also select the project name in its workspace header. Press Enter or leave the field to save. Press Escape to cancel the change.
Project settings
Project settings are the shared render context for the whole project. They include the Composition and the optional Project reference image.
The Composition contains five fields:
- Style
- Scene
- Lighting
- Materials
- Entourage
Every study reads the same saved fields. A field edit stays local until you select Save or press Command-S on macOS or Control-S elsewhere.
The Settings tab also holds the project's default model. You can still choose another model for an individual send.
For field generation, Presets, and versions, read Composition and the five fields.
Project reference image
The Project reference image helps write the five Composition fields. Select Generate Composition to read the image and replace those field values.
The image is not sent as a render input. Create and Enhance read the saved fields. Edit uses a separate source image, marked regions, and their labels.
You can replace or clear the Project reference image. Clearing it does not change existing renders or saved field values.
See Image roles and source-image preparation before choosing an image for this role.
Trash and restore
The Projects dashboard separates Active projects from Trash.
To move a project:
- Open the project's actions menu.
- Select Move to Trash.
- Open the Trash tab to find it.
A project in Trash is read-only. Its workspace shows a restore notice, and project changes are blocked until restoration.
Select Restore from the Trash row or the workspace notice. The project returns to Active with its contents intact.
Permanent deletion is available only in Trash:
- Open the trashed project's actions menu.
- Select Delete forever.
- Read the warning and confirm Delete forever.
This removes the project and all its renders. It cannot be undone.
